Love this place. Lots of food, very flavorful, quick, cheap prices for all the food you get & staff if excellent. Can't say enough great things about this place.

Cheap and quite good sushi. The dumplings are good also and very affordable. Place is kinda boring but gets four stars on the strength of very cheap and surprisingly good Japanese food.

We're from out of town and was looking for so quick food. This place was not to shabby. We ate here Two days in a row. The sushi was OK the first time. We had habachi the next and it was pretty good. The staff are very friendly and good.

We've been looking forward to the opening of this restaurant, right next to China Wok in the Village Market Plaza at S.R. 54 and Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., just east of I-75. This restaurant can be experienced via take-out, or they have a large, visually appealing dining area. Their menu features hibachi, sushi, teriyaki rice bowls, and various appetizers such as edamame and soups and salads. After seeing they had opened we stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. The place was fairly empty, but their employees greeted us warmly and took our orders which came out fresh and appetizing. We got the hibachi chicken lunch special for $6.95 and shared it, as the portion was rather large. The rice was delicious and they really do it up right. The chicken was tender, and the veggies (zucchini, onions, mushroom, broccoli) were cooked just right and full of flavor. They give you yum sauce, as well, which was kind of soupy in consistency but delicious just the same. They were also running a grand opening special where you get a free fountain drink with any order. They also had little discount cards where you get it stamped or something and earn a coupon. We will be back! Update: Visited a 2nd time today and wasn't as good. We ordered extra veggies and it didn't seem like much more (not in a separate container or anything) and there weren't any mushrooms! The rice didn't have as much sauce either, but the steak was good.

Everything Tasted Great Other Than The Yum Yum Sauce They Make From Scratch, Runny And Not Very Tasteful.

Place looks good and nice seating. But, the food is alright I have eaten here twice now and I wouldn't go back.

This place had just opened up and dropped off menus to my work place so I gave them a try for lunch. The employees were very friendly and made me aware of their lunch specials and gave me coupons for my next visit. I got the hibachi chicken which was a generous portion of chicken, vegetables and fried rice. The food was served up quick and was tasty, the food was light and filling and tasted great. Will definitely be adding to my lunch rotation.

Hibachi Express is literally how Chinese take-out restaurants work except for hibachi style food. While their prices and quantity of food are a steal, their quality is pretty cheap. You select a protein (chicken, steak, scallops, etc) and the meals come with a salad, mixed veggies, and fried rice. I ordered the steak and the meat was bland and much too chewy. The salad lettuce was okay but the dressing tasted like very diluted yum yum sauce (white sauce) mixed with watery ginger sauce. The mixed veggies and fried rice were probably the best cooked food in my to-go container. The yum yum sauce is also too watery and lacks bold and strong flavors. I would stick to Chinese take-out because at least it has flavor. This place is really just good for convenience and quantity of food, certainly not quality. Staff was friendly though!

The food is pretty amazing for the price, which is very reasonable. Their shrimp hibachi is great. Haven't tried their sushi yet, but according to reviews it's delicious as well. I'll definitely be frequenting this place from now on.

Love the food. Love the sushi. Great alternative to other fast food and the prices are great compared to other hibachi restaurants where you get the same food for twice the price. This place is reasonable for delicious food. I'm a regular.

My family and I eat here about two times a week. Definitely scratches the itch. If you like fried rolls I highly suggest the Volcano and Godzilla rolls are my favorite! Hibachi chicken is pretty fantastic. You really can't go wrong.

I routinely travel i-75 to visit my wife's parents with my wife and kids and this place is a perfect half way spot when we need to stop to eat. It's not cheap(my family of 4 usually will spend $40-$50), but for a quick service establishment that pleases all of the discerning tastes in my crew it is a great option. And way better than any of the fast food burger joints or casual dining garbage up and down the i-75 corridor. I wish I had one of these close to my office!

Decent for express. Got the chicken, steak, & shrimp Hibachi combo. Comes with miso soup or salad & a massive portion big enough for two people. Will be back to tame my craving for quick Japanese food.

Good food, reasonable prices, good selection. It's the take out that out kids often request and I'd much rather feed then this than cheese pizza! Tried the spicy tuna roll yesterday and out was really good too. We usually get the hibachi meals though and they are good

Good cheap hibachi take out. Sushi is not good though. Alternative to the boring Chinese take out

We finally got a chance to try this place. We called in our order of combination hibachi w shrimp beef and chicken w pork steamed gyoza. It also came w fried rice, veggies, & salad. This food didn't stand out to either of us. It had teriyaki sauce on it and included yum yum sauce mayo based and another sauce foe the gyoza dumplings but it still was pretty bland. If hibachi I think if grilled but it seemed like the food was more boiled in doused teriyaki sauce. Totally nothing to write home about. Can not say I will be back.

We have been here twice. It is ok food, I really don't think you can get excellent food at any place that has express in it. I must say it was pretty busy for a Saturday at 3pm. Most people had the hibachi which was a great price for sure. We have tried it before and the shrimp was actually pretty good. We did sushi this time and it was good, the standout roll was the Godzilla. The other rolls were pretty plain and simple but they do have spicy mayo and sriracha if you ask. Seaweed salad was good as any place that serves it. Best part is that we were STARVING and that is why we picked express, for the expedient delivery of food, lol.

Lots of rice and very little protein. Flavor is just ok. Nothing special to brag about.

I definitely recommend the Snow Mountain roll. It was super tasty. The Hawaii was pretty good, but I like the way they do it over at Hot Tuna better. As for the Sweet Potato roll, I'm still not sure. I mean, it was a good portion, but the sweet potato was a lot less cooked than I'm used to. It was crispy like a carrot. Not necessarily bad -- just different than what I had expected. But I did have a couple minor gripes... First, even when dining in the restaurant, everything is served in "to go" containers. If you're getting something with big portions and you're likely to take leftovers home, perhaps it's handy... but seems like a waste when it's used for the sushi rolls. It's also hard to appreciate the presentation of the sushi, when the toppings are all squashed under a plastic lid. Second, it seemed like some of the customers, ones who don't routinely eat sushi it seemed, were unsure of the menu items. I overheard one of the customers asking what's in an avocado roll and was told "avocado"... By actually listing the ingredients of each roll -- instead of just the specialty rolls -- I think it would help give the customers a bit more confidence in ordering what they want. It might also help speed up the ordering process a bit, since people don't have to spend time wondering what's in each roll and/or asking questions about each one. Lastly, and this was a super small gripe, even though employees seemed to be constantly walking by, no one offered to take the empty containers away from the table. I know they aren't a traditional sit-down restaurant, but it's worth the extra effort.

Excellent. I have eaten in and ordered out several times and both experiences were great. I will be back time and time again. The prices are also great for hibachi and you get a lot of food for the price. I order a large because this makes great left overs the next day (and I'm typically not a leftover fan). Love this place!

Cooked to order, literally, so it takes longer than most 'fast food' places. Decent food for the price. However, if you order online via website, you'll get hit with an online charge ($1.25 for MenuFly service). Apparently, ordering online this time did not equate to timely meal completion and pickup. I ordered online and was given 20-30 mintues ready timeframe. I got there about 20 min. after I ordered, confirmed I paid online, then waited another freaking 30 minutes, as others came in ordered and received their food. They need to streamline their cooking process, as it seemed that 3 cooks were all cooking one (the same) meal at a time. Then after almost an hour (55 min. to be exact), I received my pickup order, with no apologies nor any sorta of 'comp'. Everything was luke-warm by the time I got home ... 5 miles away. Granted it's in between fast-food @ malls and expensive hibachi, but WTF! I will not order online again, and will go back only for lunch. Get a grip on the cooking process .. dudes ... many folks were waiting for their meals for what seemed to be an eternity.

I had a taste for something different and I remembered this place had just opened up. It was about 9:30 and they closed at 10:00 so we were in luck, or so I thought. They had a very nice menu and I love hibachi cooked food but unfortunately the owner had just shut down the hibachi because they were about to close so there went a third of the menu choices right there...okkkkaaay no problem I saw they had sushi. Nope can't order sushi because the sushi cook put everything away already. Basically our only option was fried rice and I wasn't really I'm the mood for that but was so hungry I ended up just ordering it anyways. It was a nice portion (I ordered the shrimp fried rice small) but was only so/so as far as taste. Their "yum yum sauce" was good however and I ended up having to use a lot of that to get through my dish which I didn't even finish. The girl at the front desk was nice enough. After all it wasn't her fault. She gave me a 5 dollar coupon for my next visit ...I made a joke about "okay great ill use this if I ever come back", which she responded to by saying "Oh you will...we're the only sushi place in the area." I imderstand that they were close to closing time but I wish they would have at least tried to accommodate me. I probably will go back earlier just to try other menu items but for now my first visit was not very impressive at all. On a lighter note they do include free fountain drinks with every food order. Step it up Hibachi Express!

For the price, you cannot beat a meal here. We typically just order take out. It's definitely not a fancy sit down Japanese place. The portions are plenty and very tasty. I haven't tried the sushi yet, but maybe next time. This is definitely on our take out rotation.

This place is really good. In a way its kind of like fast food hibachi grill and sushi. I had the Godzilla roll, the Philadelphia roll and the teriyaki steak bowl. The sushi was fresh and tasted great and the teriyaki bowl was also quite good. Cheap delicious food.

Very pleasantly surprised. We had the hibachi meals. I had steak and scallops and both were perfectly cooked the veggies were crisp tender and the rice was very good (they also serve brown rice for the healtheir meal) One son did shrimp and scallops and the other had chicken. They loved it and my oldest practically licked the plate clean. Then portions were very generous. We also ordered the spider roll sushi and the snow mountain roll. They were beautiful and delicious. The prices were very reasonable. This place will be added to the rotation. Its not fancy but the food was much better quality than I expected

Amazing sushi made fresh. The green dragon and eel roll with cucumber roll was wonderful. I am a huge fan of eel and it was prepared elequently with care. Sure it took longer than those ordering hibachi but that is what I expect from true sushi artists. Wish I lived closer. I will be back anytime I am in the area.

Worst hibachi ever! Rice is SO gooey with no flavor at all. You literally have to eat the food with YUMMY SAUCE or the taste would be horrendous. The employees are friendly however I was on a quick lunch break and decided to go there which ended up to be the wrong decision
